Ayat-Allah Bouramdane is a researcher in climate change, energy systems, and energy flexibility. She is a graduate of École Polytechnique and the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, and has taught in Rabat and served as a visiting professor in France, while coordinating several research and development projects.
Her work focuses on the integrated analysis of low-carbon energy systems under current and future climate scenarios, combining technical modeling with economic and market analysis. She studies the optimization of energy mixes with high renewable penetration, with particular attention to system flexibility mechanisms such as storage, demand-side management, and spatio-temporal complementarities.
Her research also explores the strategic role of green hydrogen and its derivatives in decarbonizing hard-to-electrify sectors, carbon capture and storage as complementary solutions for achieving carbon neutrality, the role of artificial intelligence in enhancing cybersecurity in smart grids, and the energy–food–water nexus.
