Jasper specializes in the application of competition law to digital markets and digital economic regulation. In 2023, Jasper defended his dissertation titled “Regulating Competition in the Digital Network Industry” at Tilburg University. Subsequently, he has worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Academic Collaborative Center Climate & Energy to broaden his research activities to include the regulation of the energy sector. In 2024, Jasper started as researcher and day-to-day coordinator in the project “Shaping Competition in the Digital Age” at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf. He is also an extramural fellow at the Tilburg Law & Economics Center (TILEC). Jasper has published various peer-reviewed articles on abuse of dominance and merger control in digital markets, digital regulation, and sectoral regulation. A large share of these publications relate to the relevance of the business ecosystem concept in regulating digital activities.
