Monika Namysłowska is a Full Professor and Head of the Department of European Economic Law at the University of Lodz, Poland. Her research focuses on European, Polish, and German private law, with particular emphasis on consumer law and digital law. She has authored or co-authored more than 160 scholarly publications. Her work has received multiple awards, including recognition by the Minister of Economy (2015) and by the judges of the Supreme Court in Poland (2024). She has been a visiting professor at leading European universities, including Humboldt University in Berlin, Georg-August University in Göttingen, the University of Münster, the University of Naples Federico II, and others in Spain and Hungary.
She serves as an expert in the Consumer Policy Advisory Group of the European Commission and is a member of the Expert Advisory Group of the OECD Global Forum on Consumer Policy. In Poland, she is a member of the Codification Commission of Civil Law at the Ministry of Justice, Deputy Chair of the Committee of Legal Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and a member of the Advisory Scientific Committee to the Financial Ombudsman.
