Salvatore Orlando is full professor of Private Law at the Faculty of Economics of the University “Sapienza” of Rome. His areas of interests include consumer law, data law, interpretation of law and legal reasoning. He has published numerous works in the field of consumer law, marketing practices, data protection and online users’ vulnerabilities. He is regularly invited to speak in conferences dedicated to the legal issues of legal protection of individuals in the digital environment. He is the head of the Juridical Observatory on Digital Innovation (JODI) a research group established at the University “Sapienza” of Rome, with which, since 2020, he has organised more than 100 webinars, workshops, and conferences as well as the editing of more than 400 contributions published on the regular column “Diritto e nuove tecnologie” of the A-rated open access online quarterly Italian legal review “Persona e Mercato” focusing on the developments of digital law and practice.
