Shaoxuan Xu is a Ph.D. candidate in International Law at Fudan University School of Law. She is an academic member and panelist at the 119th Annual Meeting of the American Society of International Law (2025), where she presented on “The Trump Administration and International Law: Sanctions and Tariffs.”
She holds an LL.M. from New York University School of Law and a dual bachelor’s degree in Law and Philosophy from China University of Political Science and Law. Her research focuses on international economic law, sanctions and trade regulation, data governance, and technology-related compliance, with particular attention to the legal treatment of data and digital assets in cross-border contexts.
Shaoxuan has published data law-related research on state-affiliated national legal and policy platforms in China, addressing issues such as data as capital contribution, digital asset valuation, and regulatory frameworks for data-driven economic activity.
Her professional experience includes legal training in compliance and dispute resolution at Clifford Chance, Paul Hastings, and King & Wood Mallesons, as well as judicial internship experience at the New York State Supreme Court, where she worked on complex commercial and procedural disputes.
